Refunds, Returns & Cancellation of Agreement

Clear, fair terms aligned with South Africa’s Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
Note: The rights afforded to customers under the CPA are not limited by anything in this policy.

1. Cancellation & Returns

You may cancel your purchase or return an item for a refund within seven (7) business days of receiving the goods. Items must be unused, unopened, and in their original packaging. Damage caused after delivery may void eligibility.

2. How to Notify Us

Submit written notice via email with your order number, delivery details, and the item(s) to be returned. Phone notifications are not sufficient. Returns are only accepted for products purchased from Valotronics.

3. Return Shipping Costs

If you cancel after receiving goods, you are responsible for return shipping and packaging to ensure items arrive in the same condition. Please use adequate protection to avoid transit damage.

4. Risk & Insurance

Risk remains with the customer until Valotronics signs for and accepts the return. We recommend insuring items in transit. Any costs to ensure safe return are for the customer’s account.

5. Refund Processing Time

Refunds are processed within thirty (30) days of receipt and inspection of the returned goods. Refunds are made via the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Store credit may be offered where suitable.

6. Deductions & Charges

Where Valotronics incurred delivery or collection costs, these may be deducted from the refund. Bank or card processing fees charged to Valotronics may also be deducted where applicable.

7. Timing of Returns

Goods must be dispatched back to Valotronics within seven (7) days of your written cancellation to remain eligible for a refund.

8. Restocking Fee

If packaging is opened or not in original condition, a restocking fee may apply. The amount will be communicated before the refund is processed.

9. Non-Refundable Items

Opened software and certain consumables are not returnable unless a fault is discovered that could not reasonably be detected without opening the seal.

10. Custom-Built Computers

A 50% non-refundable deposit applies to custom builds. If cancelled, assembly charges and any non-returnable components will be deducted from the refundable balance.

11. Cancellation Fees

A standard 5% cancellation fee applies to orders cancelled after confirmation (except where cancelled within seven business days of receipt under CPA cooling-off). Transit and handling costs may also apply.

12. Handling Fee (Non-CPA)

For returns not covered by the CPA, a handling fee of up to 20% may be deducted to cover inspection, repackaging, and administrative costs.

13. Quality Issues & DOA

If an item is defective on arrival or within the supplier’s DOA window, Valotronics will assist with assessment as per manufacturer policy. Remedies may include repair, replacement, or refund as required by law.

14. Proof of Purchase

Please retain your order number and invoice. Proof of purchase may be required to validate and process returns.
